Oysters are an unsung hero in medicinal fungi. They have been prized for centuries for their nutritional value and delicious taste, with large amounts of ergothioneine, ergosterol, and l-methionine. This mushroom offers great antioxidant benefits and research also suggests they could be anti-inflammatory and even help support our brains as we age! In TCM, oyster mushrooms are recommended for “relaxation of muscles, joints and tendons, to strengthen circulation, and to increase kidney function”.
